Project Coordination Unit of the Ministry of Health and Social Welfare the Republic of Srpska was founded in 1997 as an executive body for the implementation of projects established by the contract signed between the Government of Republic of Srpska and the World Bank for the health sector.
The mission of the Unit is the preparation, implementation and control of complex projects that affect the structure of the health system. Projects are, in principle, prepared and implemented in cooperation with national development organizations and international lending agencies. The most important partners are the World Bank (World Bank), Canadian International Development Agency (CIDA). Swiss Development Agency (SIDA), Japan International Cooperation Agency (JICA) and the Council of Europe Bank (CEB). Projects implemented by the Unit are mainly financed from the loan and donor funds through loans and grants bileteralnih.
Project Coordination Unit reports to the Minister for Health and Social Welfare, in accordance with defined document on the assessment of projects that have signed the World Bank and the Government of the Republic of Srpska. Organizational unit consists of three parts: (a) project management, (b) procurement and ( c) financial management, itself a unit of work performed under the Ministry of Health and Social Welfare of the Republic of Srpska.
